Came up here to try one of the special Friday the 13th halloween donuts they were offering but ran out when I got there :(
I also couldn't just leave this place without getting something since it's trendy, hipster-y, and every Millennial/Gen Y college student buzzword you can think of.
I went with the Bluegrass Mule donut, which had a meyer lemon/key lime filling, ginger sugar dusting, and a little pipette/squeeze bottle filled with a honey bourbon filling that you squeeze into the donut! (Remember what I said about the trendy, hipster stuff hahahaha!)
I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Packed to the inside edges with the best citrusy filling ever. The bourbon filling gave it that extra touch of fruity tanginess.
Free parking in the back too! -

Very cute place with hot dogs and donuts.
We got there in the early afternoom and therr weren't many donuts left, only three varieties so we got one of each. They were super dense which I guess is what a brioche donut is like and full of flavor. I loved how unique the Edward Scissorhands donut was and how cute the space was. I think each donut was about $4-5 dollars. The servers were super friendly but we were feeling a tad bit groggy from our 8 hour road trip so we weren't as chipper in response, sorry!
I would have liked to try the dogs but we just had lunch. My biggest regret was that I was too full to eat all of yhe doughtnuts. Definitely a place worth trying out and would recommend going earlier in the day! -

Hotdogs and donuts- Best of both world!
Coming into this property you are welcomed with a painted road of hotdogs and sprinkled donuts to lead you into all the goods.
Coming in before work I didn't want to devour a hotdog but will be coming back for one after seeing their menu.
All the donuts are visually pleasing but I had to get their "dirty O.G." on my first visit. I also ordered a coconut cold brew coffee which was served in a BAG!
The dirty O. G. was very good, with a blast of cinnamon flavor and it was perfect with a sip of my coconut cold brew. -

A cute little stop. It is a small restaurant serving donuts, dogs, beer and coffee inside of a house. It was pretty expensive for what it was. It was $20 for an espresso, iced coffee and 2 donuts. Pretty much the same cost of what we paid for our breakfast right before walking over to this place which was a ton of food.
The donuts were good but overpriced. -

Wandered into The Donut + Dog after strolling the Vanderbilt campus for a couple hours. It's a dainty spot on a street that has a few restaurants, a few other businesses, and perhaps some residences.
The gentleman at the counter was extremely kind and was really the reason for this fourth star. He gave fantastic service, walking me through the options and making recommendations.
I settled on the Elote Loco dog. It was ok. I wish it had a sauce, crema, guac, some other condiment on top. The chorizo dog had a good amount of spicy and the corn and cotija didn't really do enough to cool it down. It was a big dog too.
The fries were crispy and had lots of seasoning but maybe a touch too much pepper, in my opinion.
I also got a donut, the Southern Belle: peach jam filled from 4 sides, brown butter glaze, local pecan brittle topped. It was kinda meh. First I couldn't even pick it up. It was so heavy my fingers slid through the glaze. I couldn't find a knife and fork so I used both hands. I really liked the glaze (you could definitely take the black butter), and the pecan brittle. I really didn't like the peach jam. The peach taste wasn't strong and wish it had been more of a marmalade.
All in all the ambiance and service got me to 4 stars. I'd go back and try a different dog and a different donut because it looks like they've got some good combinations.
